ENVIRONMENTAL STEWARDSHIP

The location, along the county line between Sweet Grass and Stillwater Counties, provides an excellent wind resource while avoiding such issues as avian mortality and impacts to the viewshed. Due to the topography, the wind turbines will not be visible from the area in and around Big Timber.

Generating 320 megawatts of clean renewable energy to power more than 120,000 homes, the four wind farms are displacing 832,195 tons of CO2, the equivalent of taking more than 175,000 cars off the road.

The four wind farms will deploy 128 GE 2.5 MW wind turbines, each equipped with a permanent magnet generator, ensuring high efficiency even at low wind speeds.
